Setting Spray – NYX vs. Pixi

Hey guys!

I’ve been testing out some new drugstore setting sprays and decided to share my thoughts on them!

From Pixi, I got the Glow Mist (US$15) because I generally like a little bit more glow for my setting spray than my actual makeup.

I really liked this setting spray, the scent is so pleasing. I used it to set my makeup and it gives off a very pleasant glow to the face and keeps my makeup on no matter how much I exercise that day. It really hydrates, and nourishes my skin. Pixi is also not tested on animals so its a big plus in my books.

The only issue I find with the setting spray is that the spray can be a little harsh, so it really concentrates in one area. I actually ended up switching the bottles for the Glow Mist so that I could get a better, even layer.

From NYX, I tried the Matte setting spray (US$8) and the Dewy setting spray (US$8).

I liked the Matte setting spray better than the Dewy setting spray. It kept my makeup on and keeps its matte all day. However, when I exercise the makeup does slip a little bit. I love the spray bottle it comes in, when it finished I actually put my Pixi glow mist into this bottle. The spray really helps get an even layer of the liquid on your face.

I did not like the Dewy setting spray. It made me look and feel oily anywhere I applied it. I don’t think this spray lasted at all. Personally, I would not recommend this spray for a dewy setting spray, it’s not really worth it.

Have y’all tried any other Pixi sprays or have different thoughts on the NYX setting sprays? Let me know in the comments!
